Victoria Romanoff was one of the first and most influential members of Historic Ithaca. Of her many accomplishments, Romanoff served as project manager of the Clinton House restoration and poured superhuman energy into the work of rescuing the ca. 1830 grand hotel. As a principal partner of Romanoff & Associates, a design and historic preservation firm, Romanoff has helped to preserve hundreds of historic structures in Tompkins County, including Clinton Hall, St. James A.M.E. Zion Church, Simeon's, and Llenroc House. Romanoff also applies preservation principles to her vibrant artistic practice, working with recycled materials in the creation of sculptural works.

I’m especially impressed by Victoria Romanoff’s hands-on role in restoring important landmarks and her creative approach to using recycled materials in her art. It makes me think about how passion and persistence can shape entire communities. In a different way, I feel a similar sense of focus when I play Slope Rider—I have to stay committed and keep moving forward despite obstacles. I think this passage captures that same spirit of determination and purpose, just applied to something far more lasting and meaningful.
