LIBRARY OF THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT

Are you a homeowner looking for information on your older home or preservation how-to? A student researching local history and land use? Or a history buff interested in the physical environment?

Our non-circulating library collection contains material related to:

  • architecture & urban design

  • local history

  • conservation techniques & DIY

  • historic interior & period furnishings

  • … and much more

We have over 600 books, dozens of magazine titles, a 120-year run of Ithaca City Directories, thousands of photographs and slides, surveys of historic resources throughout Tompkins County, scrapbooks, maps, and ephemera.

Library Fees:

• Photocopying $0.25 per page.

Friends of Historic Ithaca may make 10 photocopies per year free of charge.

• Scanning services $25 for the first 10 images and an additional $1 for each image thereafter.

• Research services $50 per hour.
