PRESERVATION BASICS SERIES
This series of hourlong classes focuses on the basics of preservation and local history.
February 2: “Yearly Maintenance for the Older Home”
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Learn how to conduct an annual inspection of your home and develop a yearly maintenance schedule. A take-home guide is included.
Where: Historic Ithaca’s Headquarters, 212 Center Street, Ithaca, NY
Cost: $8 Friends of Historic Ithaca, $10 General Public
Registration: Online registration is encouraged, but last-minute joiners are welcome too!
April 12: “What Style Is It?”
Learn to identify the most common architectural styles found in Tompkins County and see examples from the 1820s through the 1950s. Optional: bring a photo of your house, commercial building, or farm structure. A take-home identification guide is included.
