That Old House Tour

Celebrating Belle Sherman & Bryant Park

May 14, 2011

Visit eight open private homes while touring the Belle Sherman & Bryant Park neighborhood.

Homes on the tour are open from 1pm to 4pm.

Join us on May 14 for a glimpse inside eight of the welcoming homes of one of Ithaca’s loveliest neighborhoods as we celebrate Historic Preservation Month with a self-guided walking tour of Belle Sherman and Bryant Park.  Explore the neighborhood’s winding tree-lined side streets and lush gardens, discovering hidden architectural gems from the 1830s through 1960s. Between your stops at the open private homes, follow the tour map to learn more about the development of the neighborhood from farmland in the 1800s to the speculative subdivision of Bryant Park in 1908, the building boom of the 1920s-30s, and even an early 1960s Marcel Breuer-designed apartment building.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $20 in advance for Friends of Historic Ithaca. Purchase advance tickets online, call (607) 273-6633, or visit Historic Ithaca at 212 Center Street, Ithaca. Advance ticketing ends May 13. Click here to purchase tickets.
