Interim Executive Director Named

Sara Johnson, the manager of Significant Elements and Work Preserve, has been unanimously named to the position of Interim Director of Historic Ithaca, Inc. by the organization’s Board of Directors.

The previous Executive Director, Dr. John Lewis,  announced his resignation for personal reasons in late August.

Ms. Johnson, who served as Interim Director from September 2015 through February 2016, has 8 years of increasingly responsible experience with the historic preservation organization. President of the Board Julee Johnson observed that “In Sara, we have a consummate professional and a natural leader at the helm. The organization is in very good hands.”

The appointment takes effect immediately and will be in place until the Board hires a new Executive Director.
