Michael Duttweiler captures our area’s older homes and buildings that are vanishing over time. His exhibit will be on display from October 1-31.

Buildings in our Midst: Their Souls and Stories

Photographs by Michael Duttweiler

Exhibition October 1-31

Gimme Coffee, 506 W. State St., Ithaca, NY

The exhibit invites one to be aware of the buildings in our midst that connect us to place, to local knowledge and wisdom, and to those that have gone before us. The photos, from Tompkins and adjacent counties, are of homes, barns and former public buildings.  We are fortunate to live in an area steeped in history. These buildings connect us to the past. They have stories to tell. They share a language as they invite us to reflect on our landscapes and vanishing buildings.

Duttweiler’s partners in creating the show are Historic Ithaca volunteer Claire Perez and board member Rod Howe.
