Courtney Crawford was a long-time supporter of Historic Ithaca in its earliest years. He served on the board of directors from 1969 through the late 1970s and was president of the board from 1974 through 1976, the early years of the Clinton House restoration, in which Crawford’s optimistic leadership was essential. After his death in 1978, his family designated a special fund to support Historic Ithaca’s educational programming. Historic Ithaca’s Courtney Crawford Memorial lecture series was created as a tribute to his dedication to historic preservation. Courtney Crawford is holding a plaque in the photograph below from the 1970s.
